During our 5-day visit to Watamu, Captain Saidi really enriched our stay. We were staying in/around Mida Creek and booked a dolphin & snorkeling, Mangrove and Sunset tours with Saidi. For the dolphin watching, we left early in the morning as instructed and had the pleasure to see a school of dolphins (some with calves ) on their way from their sleeping grounds to the feeding grounds. What a site! There was no hurry and we spend a bit over an hour there. Then went snorkeling – which was mind blowing. Saidi who is an excellent diver would dive so deep and brought all different types of catches for us to see – octopuses too. After which we spent a bit of time at the beach before going back to our hotel. The following day we had a second tour – mangrove and Sunset, whereby we had an ample time enjoying the view of the creek through and along mangroves and finally enjoying the Watamu sunset. All through there was some drinks and snacks too. Captain Saidi is also a great guy with an amazing personality and easy going. I would 💯 recommend him as he takes his time to make sure you have a great experience. Looking forward to our next visit to Watamu! Enjoy!

We stayed in the hotel where Saidi works as a guide in February 2026. We booked some of Saidis tours and it was the best decision of the entire trip. There is simply no comparison to the TripAdvisor/ getyourguide tours with 15+ people on a boat. We went on a private dolphin watching cruise that wasn’t much more expensive than the other tours online. But Saidi took so much time to show us everything. We spent like an hour with a school of dolphins all by ourselves and without any rush. We snorkeled with Saidi, a former fisher/diver, and he would just dive 10m down to show us stuff like octopuses. Truly impressive!

I would recommend this tour and all the others (I.e. flamingo tour, standup paddling) to everyone, you will have an awesome time. Captain Saidi is your perfect guide. He is warmhearted and knows Watamu Bay like his backpocket. He takes a lot of time to explain but also knows when he has to be pushy so you don’t miss out on the best sightings. He is just all in all a great guy, that cares as much about your experience as about the wellbeing of the local nature and people. Something that still impresses me today

We fell in love with Watamu from the very first moment we arrived. But without a doubt, the experience became even better when we met Saidi. He welcomed us into his home, showed us around the village, and told us so many interesting things about Kenya in general.

He is amazing! Very hardworking and, above all, a truly wonderful person.

We had a very nice experience with Saidi during our holidays in Watamu. We enjoyed a lot with the different activities booked: Gede ruins, Jacaranda beach, full day including snorkel, lunch and Mida Creek Sunset… He is a very king person and I recommend him to anyone who wants to have a good time in Watamu.
